Loss

For more healing from loss, please see this video by tapping the image above.

One of the hardest parts of living is losing those we love. From relationship breakups to death, we grieve what once was and no longer is.

We are pieces of the people we love and when we lose them, we might feel as if we have lost a part of ourselves. We may feel hollow, abandoned, and broken. We can allow the tears of sorrow to flow as liquid gold adhesive - Kintsugi- the Japanese art of repair, that puts us back together, not as “damaged” but as “restored.”

The salve to suffering is non-attachment. We can only attach ourselves to something that is separate from us and on the most penetrating level, nothing is separate from us, for we are one. The physical body may be gone but remains living in the memories we created, and the unconditional love that brought us together. We think non-attachment is an act of separating ourselves from another, but it’s the opposite; it’s a realization that we have never been, nor will we ever truly be, separate, for attachments are illusions. We can hold the paradox of impermanence and infinity through our deeper understanding that non-attachment is actually unification.

When we come to realize that we are all one and never as separate or different as we falsely perceive, we can let go of attachment, let go of the fear of loss, and rest in the knowledge of infinite love and oneness.
